President Obama has done all he can these past five years to manipulate language and facts in order to exonerate Islam and Moslems from terrorist attacks committed in the U.S. by Moslems in the name of Islam and jihad. After Nidal Hassan at Fort Hood mowed down numerous innocents while chanting "Allahu Akbar," Mr. Obama and his underlings refused to designate it as terrorism or jihad but instead labeled it "workplace violence". The same distortion of reality occurred when Abdul Mohammud killed an army recruiting officer in Little Rock, Arkansas in June, 2009. Mr. Mohammud, the killer, knew he did it as an act of jihadist terrorism, but the President's men would have us believe it was simply "generic violence".
While all of us knew that what happened in Boston was indeed terrorism, the president initially refused to call it terrorism. Perhaps, he thought, he could jawbone us into believing that it was simply "Marathon-related violence". His advisors initially floated the trial balloon of tax-day or right-wing terrorism. Even now, when it is incontrovertibly Islamic terrorism, Mr. Obama will not characterize it as such. He just can't do it. He doesn't want to do it.

Over the last five weeks, three distinct stages have unfolded in the Benghazi cover-up revealing the inner Obama and Clinton. At first blush, we thought Benghazi exposed the amateurish and irresponsible nature of the Obama administration. For Mr. Obama, “responsibility” does not mean precluding terrible events from happening, rather responsibility to appoint a commission to investigate what already happened, with a likely outcome exonerating the President.
Thus, long-time Arabist and leftist, Thomas Pickering, was chosen to lead the investigation with the goal, in typical Obama and leftist fashion, of blaming someone else or circumstances for disasters occurring under their watch. It is accepted somehow among liberals that we Americans are to indulge their administrations to “learn on the job” and perform better the next time, as if an apprenticeship – something ironic coming from a group that claims it is uniquely “smart”. |

By now everyone knows the attack on our embassy and the deaths of four American consulate members in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept.11, was a coordinated military attack by Al Qaeda Islamists. It was planned well in advance so as to coincide with the anniversary of Sept. 11 -- their day of "glory" -- and was not a consequence of some obscure video released months prior. Indeed, the Obama administration knew the facts within 24 hours of the assault and was even repeatedly warned of the possibility beforehand by our professionals on the ground in Libya.
Yet President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Susan Rice and administration spokesmen continued ad nauseum for almost two weeks to blame the Benghazi attack on a spontaneous crowd incensed over a video instead of what it was: an attack that was anticipated by the embassy staff and our intelligence gatherers yet ignored by a careless, amateurish, and indifferent Obama administration.
It is now obvious that the Obama administration was for two weeks engaged in a cover-up of epic magnitude, a deliberate cover-up of the first order.
The President interprets his “responsibility” as a mandate to investigate what happened. But true responsibility would have been shown by a concern to heed the warnings so as to not let the carnage happen at all. We “look to him” not for what he will now find out – we already know – but as to why Obama let it happen to begin with.
